Lip Aesthetics
In some people, the lip structure may be thin, or with aging, the amount of fat tissue in the lips may decrease, resulting in a reduction in lip thickness.
There are many interventions for lip thickening that can be done to change the person's problem and age.
- Thickening of the lip using permanent materials taken from the body
- Thickening of the lip using fillers
- Surgical procedures to advance the lip mucosa (red part)
Autogenous fillers or impurities may be used as fillers. Dermis grafts, fascia grafts and fat grafts can be used for lip thickening. Since fat grafts undergo a major dissolution after a certain period of time, their persistence is limited. Dermis and fascia grafts are tissues with less dissolution and longer durability. By placing these tissues in the lip, the lip volume is increased and thus the lip thickening is provided.
These procedures are easily performed under local anesthesia. Swelling usually disappears within 7–10 days. Thickening of the lip with hyaluronic which is a substance present in the body, which is used for lip thickening, injected under the skin and under the mucosa, is a non-surgical method. One of the longer-acting fillers developed in recent years and applied in our clinic is the injection form of the substance called calcium hydroxyapetite. This substance lasts up to 7 years.
Thinning Lip
Is the process of minimizing excessively thick lips. A ellipse-shaped piece is removed from the mucosa of the thick lip with the fat tissues underneath and sutured by a suitable technique. This procedure is performed with local anesthesia. Swelling and bruises disappear within a few days. Since the scars of the sutures made in the mucosa are not visible, there is no scarring problem after surgery.
