Liposuction
Liposuction is the method of obtaining fat body tissues which are more in some parts of the body by vacuum method and obtaining more smooth body lines.
In this way, the stubborn fat accumulation in the region by taking the body fat is given a more proportionate appearance. Contrary to what is known , liposuction is not a slimming operation, it is a contour correction surgery.
The success of surgery in liposuction depends on the elasticity, weight and determination of the patient's skin. This surgery should not be seen as a miraculous slimming method. Exercises and strict diets do not decrease the volume of fat cells in the body, while the number of fat cells does not decrease. In liposuction surgery, the number of fat cells decreases by removing fat cells from the body.

Who can do liposuction?
The most appropriate group of patients for liposuction surgery are those who have accumulated fat in some areas of the body (especially the hips, basins, abdomen and waist areas) that are close to or slightly above their ideal weight but cannot be removed by diet or exercise. The patient's tight and elastic skin structure, smoking and smoking affect the result.
Is there a permanent result in liposuction?
The result is permanent if the patient maintains weight. In case of weight gain in the following periods these regional surpluses will not be at the same rate.

Liposuction surgery varies between 1-3 hours depending on the operation area and the size of the procedure. Surgery is performed under local or general anesthesia according to the areas to be taken fat.
How is the surgery performed?
Liposuction surgery is performed with vacuum devices using cannulas of different sizes. There are no significant marks as these incisions are made in mm-sized incisions. Laser liposuction, Vaser liposuction, ultrasound assisted liposuction, wet (liquid giving) and dry liposuction techniques are available. Vaser Liposuction is preferred in our hospital and is applied to our patients.
What are the points to consider in the postoperative period?
There is not much pain after surgery. Mild pains are relieved with painkillers. Patients are usually discharged on the same day or the day after. It is possible to return to work within 2-3 days.Swelling and bruises may occur in the postoperative period. It usually improves in 2 weeks. However, all the swelling in the surgical site descends and the final shape of the site takes about 6-12 months. During this period, massage and some other treatments can be applied for support purposes. It is appropriate to use a corset for 1 month after the operation in order to give an effective result. It is useful to pay attention to diet and exercise in the postoperative period. It is important to remember that if you continue to eat excessively, you may gain weight again in other parts of the body, though not as much as before. However, in the case of this weight gain, the areas where liposuction has been made and the regions that have not been made will gain weight proportionally.
What are the complications after liposuction?
Fat embolism is seen in liposuction surgeries. Early mobilization is recommended to the patient in order to prevent this life-threatening condition as a result of the oil being mixed into the circulation. The most important of the long-term complications is fluctuations and dentures in the area where fat is removed . These fluctuations and collapses are caused by excessive or irregular fat intake or poor skin elasticity.
